Mary grew up in Mexico as a Missionary Kid
1957 - 1970
When Mary was 9 months old, her parents moved to Mexico to be missionaries. For 10 years her family lived in a Tarascan Indian village before moving to the city of Morelia, Michoacan (Mexico) where Mary lived until the age of 14. Mary is considered "multi-cultural" and speaks fluent Spanish. 1990 - 2010
In 1990, Mary went to Guatemala for the first time. "God put a supernatural love in my heart for the people, particularly the poor and the indigenous." For the next 20 years Mary took short-term mission trips to Guatemala. During a trip in 1999, she heard a still, small voice say to her: "Your work in Guatemala has just begun." Guatemala Landing Zone has been a vision of hers since that trip. 2010 - Present Day
In August 2010, Mary knew that "the time to move to Guatemala was now." After giving away and selling off nearly everything she owned, Mary moved to Guatemala full-time in June 2011. Since moving to Guatemala, Mary has helped launch and operate many outreach programs in the villages of Rabinal, Pacux, Rio Negro, Chitucan, Canchun, La Colonia:

The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in GOD'S service... |
